Cleaning and Preserving Cultural Heritage Sites

These projects aimed to clear cultural heritage sites of litter in Jerusalem and its surrounding areas. They mainly involved young students ranging from elementary to university students, and bestowed valuable lessons on appreciating and recognizing the significance of such sites to future generations. Through these activities, the students not only acquired extensive knowledge regarding these cultural sites, but also gained greater understanding of the preservation of historically relevant structures as well as that of the environment. These clean ups were carried out in the historical town of Batir, the renowned neighbourhood of Jerusalem known as Silwan and the Touqan palace in Nablus. They were greatly successful in terms of participation and results, leaving the areas in much better conditions than those they were found in.
